(More customer reviews)We bought these for our 4-year-olds to catch stream creatures on weekend camping trips.We'd found that the fine-mesh butterfly nets we'd been using weren't up to the task. The kids wade through the shallow water using the handle end to turn over rocks and then flip the nets around to scoop up the hapless crayfish.The rectangular net opening is better for scraping along the stream bottom than the hoop-shaped type. The mesh is large enough to allow the net to be pulled rapidly through the water, but fine enough to catch the smallest minnows. After a half dozen trips and some hard use, the nets still look like new. The aluminum handle and frame are sturdy and the mesh is tough and fully intact.The heavy plastic guard that protects the mesh where it wraps around the frame also shows no wear. We are very pleased with the product.
